The end is near…

On Monday, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort breached a plea deal, and Trump has been talking about pardoning him. Roger Stone is in trouble, there was a big earthquake in Alaska earlier today, and now, with the president’s former lawyer pleading guilty to lying before congress, we can officially say one thing for absolute certainty (outside of how cool the latest Halloween movie is):

The apocalypse is NIGH!!

And now I shalt speaketh what no other body in the mainstream dareth digress:

This is not the end of the world (omg).

There may be some tough times ahead (no way), but this is not the end of the world. There may be too many emotions involved–on any side–far too many emotions for any one person to handle, however much certain people may think they’re entitled to look down on the rest of us for assuming otherwise /> but it is not the end of the world.

It may be harder than ever to know what is true, what is not, and where I stand in relation to pretty much anything else, and we may feel alone, and like nobody listens, and like we’re all crazy so ‘what’s the goddamned point anyway??’, but it is not the end of the world.

The only way it’s ‘the end of the world’ is if the majority of people act in such a way which brings that about. The reality is that most people live their lives–more often than not as best as they know how–and it is possible to talk to those who think deeper–or simply more–about certain issues that effect a larger group of people than, say, hockey statistics, through reason alone, and to make an impact through that (dick).

As always, recent events regarding the Mueller investigation do not render everyone who voted for Trump as non-people (FASCIST!), in fact: the farther down this road we go, the more likely is it that those people will prove themselves quite especially human, just as those whack-jobs who voted for anyone else ever (so: all of us), are quite especially human as well. Whatever happens, the questions we’re seeing come about now have a much longer life than any president, and will be here long after Trump is gone, and long after whomever follows him.

Only by forgetting that will the apocalypse (the destruction of all thought, feeling, and understanding) /> end the world.
