Three weeks after Brett Kavanaugh was sworn in to the supreme court on October 6th, new evidence has been released regarding the highly publicized senate hearing and investigation into allegations of sexual assault on the part of the future supreme court judge.
Yesterday, NBC reported that, in an unaired interview, Swetnick’s key witness walked back her claims accusing Kavanaugh as being the man drugging and raping women at several parties back in the early 80’s. "I didn't ever think it was Brett," the woman said in a phone interview arranged by Swetnick’s lawyer Michael Avenatti. Avenatti is widely believed to be prepping a presidential run for 2020.
I’d read the original NBC report, or this one from the Washington Examiner, for the facts on this; they’ll do a better job at wording them than I would. I just want to point out how ridiculous we’re letting our politics get. Swetnick’s story was questionable from day one, and NBC has had this information at least since the day before Kavanaugh was sworn in. Why did they wait so long to release it? And what will happen to Avenatti’s career if he’s found to have consciously lied to the senate judiciary committee? Or his potential presidential bid?
Nevermind, I have to leave for my rally/protest. I’ll let you know what I think when I get back.
